    Chris is a literary scholar and corpus linguist, who worked on the project 'Modelling between Digital and Humanities: Thinking in Practice', which was funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. He previously worked at the University of Lancaster on the Leverhulme-funded corpus linguistic projects, 'People, Products, Pests and Pets: The Discursive Representation of Animals', and in project management in the healthcare communication industry.

    Chris holds a PhD in literature, an MA in Science Fiction Studies and a BA (Hons) in Language and Literature (University of Liverpool). His research focusses on the relationship between science, literature and popular culture, particularly in relation to climate change, animal studies and science fiction. His book, Terraforming: Ecopolitical Transformations and Environmentalism in Science Fiction, was published by Liverpool University Press in 2016. Links to publications can be found at his website.
